The church, which is now called Bizweni Community Church, was founded in 1986 by the direction of the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Kobus & Hazel Swart, who now preside as senior eldership couple. Kobus is flowing in relationship with other ministries and churches locally, translocally as well as with apostolic teams internationally.

Over the years, the Lord has graciously brought men and women who not only caught the vision that He put into Kobus and Hazel’s heart, but also the revelation to come alongside to serve. Hearts were knitted together as a Team. Each of these men has accompanied Kobus into a number of nations – such as Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine, Malaysia, Vietnam, the UK, Namibia and Zimbabwe – on ministry trips. Today they function in different roles in this house and some are taking responsibility for households further away in surrounding towns.
